Two suspected drug dealers are accused of possessing Dhs136,500 in heroin.

The Pakistanis appeared at Abu Dhabi Criminal Court this week.

The court heard that Dubai Police arrested one of the defendants after he tried to sell a capsule of the drug to an undercover officer for Dhs750.

Police claim he told them that his co-defendant, who was in Abu Dhabi, had more of the drug.

Dubai Police raided the home of the second defendant in co-ordination with their counterparts in the capital and allegedly found two plastic bags containing more capsules in a bag hidden under the defendant’s bed. In total they recovered 182 capsules of the heroin.

The defendants denied possessing and supplying the drug when they appeared in court on Monday.

The case was adjourned to October 22.
