Get into the groove in Abu Dhabi
Dance fans are in for a real ‘superclub’ experience when DJ supremos Gareth Emery and Sander Van Doorn take to the decks at Allure by Cipriani nightclub tonight.
Organisers Flash Entertainment and Cream have confirmed that the Yas Island club will be transformed for the superstar DJs in terms of layout, audio and video technology. Armed with a potent blend of trance, house, electro and techno, ‘Concrete Angel’ star Emery should appeal to most dance fans. In his own words, the Englishman is a ‘music guy’, plain and simple. He explains: “I always start a track with the music, rather than the beats. I found the dance scene after classical piano training and years of playing guitar in bands, so I guess in a way I’ve come full circle.
“I guess it’s just good, melodic dance music,” says the Garuda label boss. “One of the most positive things about the scene over the past few years has been the breaking down of genre barriers and the cross-pollination of sounds. I just look for records I enjoy musically and work well in a club. The genre is unimportant.
