Support is helping Lea

WELLWISHERS have been turning up at the Dubai hospital where a young leukaemia victim is being treated to hand over presents, her parents have said.

So far 7DAYS readers have donated Dhs57,000 to the family of Filipina Lea Joven, eight, who needs money for an operation to clean her blood system.

“People are even turning up at the hospital after reading about her the paper, they are giving her toys which makes her very happy,” said her mother, Michelle.

The family was also overwhelmed with support two years ago when Lea urgently needed a bone marrow transplant.

Hundreds of 7DAYS readers helped with the fundraising.
