Sibling of dead girl tells police of abuse
The sister of a girl who was allegedly tortured and killed by her father has said she witnessed him abuse her sibling on the day she is believed to have died, Dubai Police said.
The body of eight-year-old Wadiyma was found buried in the desert last week. It is believed it had been there for three months. Dubai Police arrested the girl’s father shortly after the discovery.
Wadiyma’s sister, Meyra, six, told the police that their father would physically abuse the pair, a source close to the investigation told 7DAYS yesterday. She also allegedly told them that the last time she saw Wadiyma alive, her sister was being tortured.
The source said: “She said her father and his lover shaved her sister’s head then threw boiling water on her until she was unconscious. They then picked her up and closed the bathroom door. Meyra claims that when they opened it hours later, they found Wadiyma dead.”
The source added: “Meyra said she heard them planning to bury her sister in the desert and her father covered her body with fabric and took her outside. This was in March.”
Meyra is being treated in Latifa Hospital, Dubai. She is suffering from injuries consistent with having been abused.
The police source said: “The father used to tell his daughters they were filthy and dirty.”
The father, a 27-year-old Emirati, was arrested last Wednesday along with his alleged lover. The head of Dubai Public Prosecution, Attorney General Eissam Issa Al Humaidan, said: “We are still investigating and will finish the case soon before we refer it to Dubai Courts.
He might be charged with murder or assault leading to death. We are awaiting reports and testimonies from witnesses and the suspects.”
The girls’ mum said the suspect got custody of the children after they divorced.

“When a couple separate or divorce, neither of them should use the children against one another & no parent should EVER hate their children, who are a gift from God.
They are with us for such a short time until they grow up to begin the adult chapter of their lives. Our job is to accept them as individuals, love, protect, teach, guide & support them, then help them on their way after they finish school/college/university.
In a divorce - the children need to stay with & be raised by their own loving, nurturing mother. Unless there are extenuating circumstances & the mother is unwell, unfit or totally incapable of raising the children.
Where is the department of Social Services?
Other people must have noticed that these children were not being cared for & that they may have been being abused.
Who do you call if you suspect that is happening?
Do highly trained Social Workers investigate & bring in the police for further investigation?
The government can research other countries round the world where Social Services is functioning well & then set up a state of the art system to protect children & all individuals from harm.
This man & woman are very disturbed individuals, it is possible they will never be rehabilitated to become a decent member of society. Intensive counselling & Incarceration is needed.”

“Men, once they get a divorce from their wives, in certain cases hate the children from the relationship. But this issue goes over the limits. If he couldn't look after them, he should have given them back to ex-wife and should have made some other arrangements. This is a murder and deserves no leniency of any form. The man deserves to die , which is the only apt punishment. If he was given solitary confinement, will he change?? I think NOT!!”

“Wow I cannot even believe that anyone would do such a thing. How in the world did the father get custody over the girls? How bad was the mother?”
