Rain brings relief

During the initial years

of my life, I always wondered how could one live in a desert. But during that period I had no idea that I, too, was brought up in one. The only dispute was that this desert didn't have any attributes of being a desert. Obviously, except

one.

Beautiful creeks, busy markets, shiny buildings, crowded malls, and never ending traffic can never remind one of an arid, desolate land, but the ever rising temperatures, the humid weather and the scorching heat of sun that encompasses the inhabitants of UAE every summer does. However on Monday, 9th of July 2012, a miracle was witnessed in the UAE, especially in Dubai and Sharjah. We witnessed a short lived spark of dark clouds and light rain. This summer when I have been dreading to go outside my air-conditioned apartment, this rain filled me with me exuberance and a promise of an unforgettable summer

of 2012. This picture which I clicked is of the clouds that I could see from my bedroom window on the Sharjah Buheira Corniche, that for some time gave me the joy and hope that every first shower of rain brings, which I wish to cherish

forever.
