New drugs set to hit shelves in the UAE

The Ministry of Health has approved 126 new drugs in the UAE.

The drugs registration and pricing higher national committee said they will be used for the treatment of various diseases such as tumours, diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, allergies and arthritis.

The drugs committee said it had taken into consideration the needs of patients and pharmaceutical security in the UAE when they considered the new drugs.

The committee has also carried out clinical studies on two drugs, one for the treatment of paediatric diabetes and the other for bone marrow deficiency.

It has also approved the prices of 133 new drugs.
