New beaches on Abu Dhabi Corniche now open

Beachgoers in the capital now have more space to enjoy on the expanded Abu Dhabi Corniche.

“The new expansions comprise two separated areas along the Corniche,” said Dr Badriya Al Dhahri, director of community services at Abu Dhabi Municipality adding that the area is large enough to host between 1,500 to 3,000 beachgoers.

He continued: “The municipality has allocated wide areas in the new expansion of the beach as common areas open for use by all rendering it a common place for all to visit.

“The expansion will also house a facility for staging events and festivities as part of the future development of the beach.”

Five qualified lifeguards and instructors have been placed at the beach to support beachgoers and ensure the highest degree of safety for visitors.
