Dubai Police have found the body of a missing 17-year-old Indian boy in Dubai Creek.

The teenager had not been seen for two days after the last reported sighting of him in the Gold Souk.

A official in CID confirmed that Ammar Ateeuddin was discovered dead in the creek, in an apparent drowning.

“He was found at 7.10am on Wednesday and an investigation is under way to determine the cause and time of death,” the official said

He added: “His mother identified him at the police station. She identified him through the clothes that he was wearing the day of his disappearance because his body was slightly damaged due to water.”

According to Dubai Police the boy’s family told them that he left their home in the Gold Souk at 11.30am on Monday and never returned.
