Dubai schoolboy says he was assaulted
A boy has claimed he was raped by a supermarket worker who allegedly dragged him to an abandoned villa after getting off the school bus.
Dubai Public Prosecution has asked for the death sentence for the man charged with raping the 10-year-old and for two other supermarket workers who are accused of sexual molestation and threatening behaviour. The men are yet to enter pleas.
The boy told Dubai Court of First Instance that he was approached by one of the defendants - a 21-year-old Indian man - at the bus stop. He claims the man dragged him to a villa in Muraqabbat.
The boy said: “I was afraid. He started taking his clothes off and then raped me. Afterwards he gave me Dhs10 and threatened to beat me up if I informed my parents.”
He continued: “I didn’t tell my father. The next day while I was waiting for the bus another man came and took me to the same villa and molested me. He also gave me Dhs10.”
Later that day, the child claims, he was attacked again. “The second man took me to his room and molested me. The next day I didn’t go to school and hid behind a supermarket until my mother found me. I told her everything.”
Medical tests showed the boy had been raped.
