Dubai jibe made swimmer game
BRITISH paralympic swimmer Claire Cashmore has described the childhood moment in Dubai that triggered her competitiveness in the water.
Claire, 24, who is taking part in the London 2012 Paralympic Games representing Team GB, said it was a snub from another child that turned her into a “water baby”.
She revealed: “I moved to Dubai when I was five. Before that I was really nervous of swimming but when I was nine a girl told me I couldn’t swim - and I was determined
to prove her wrong.”
Claire, from Leeds in the UK, has been swimming competitively for more than 11 years.
This is her third Paralympics.
