Crackdown on illegal immigrants welcomed
Sharjah Police have to be applauded for their crackdown on illegal immigrants.
It is true that most crime is envisaged by an idle mind or a perennially empty pocket due to reluctance to work/illegal residency. However, companies who cancel their employees’ visas and feign amnesia when it is time to ensure the employee has exited the country should be penalised too. Likewise when any employee absconds, the police should be immediately informed as it helps their search/investigation in catching the absconder and deporting him.
These illegals are housed even in quiet residential neighborhoods in Sharjah defacing terraces with drying laundry or those sharing flats create ill ease among the other occupants of the building. The Emirates ID couldn’t have come at a better time. Sharjah and security - a great blend to ward off crime. Punishment for law breakers.

“Emirates ID came almost 5 years ago. And to think, their original plan was getting every resident in the UAE signed up during the last 3/4 months of 2007 ... ha”
